13 junio | alonso mejía.El Concejo Municipal de San Carlos aprobó el pasado 6 de junio una moción en contra de la exploración y explotación petrolera y de otros hidrocarburos en el país. La iniciativa fue impulsada por todos los regidores propietarios del Pacto Municipal Sancarleño, para solicitar al Poder Ejecutivo y a SETENA información sobre el estado de los proyectos que pretenden explorar o explotar recursos petroleros y gas en el cantón de San Carlos.
El Concejo Municipal solicitó al Departamento Legal y a la Comisión de Asuntos Jurídicos, las bases para declarar una moratoria contra la exploración y explotación petrolera y de otros hidrocarburos, mientras no haya un adecuado plan regulador cantonal que dé insumos para una decisión definitiva sobre el tema.
Para el próximo jueves 16 de junio a las 10 a.m. el PAC organizará la Mesa Nacional de Diálogo en la Capilla, ubicada en el Edificio Sión , en la Asamblea Legislativa.
La presidenta, Laura Chinchilla, se pronunció sobre el tema un día después de la moratoria de San Carlos, ante los pronunciamientos de diversas organizaciones ambientalistas y partidos polítos contra la explotación petrolera. Dijo que no apoya la actividad de explotación de hidrocarburos, pero sí la de explotación de gas natural en las grandes areas pretendidas por la empresa estadounidense.
El Minaet está por firmar una concesión de 20 años que le permite ala empresa Mallon Oil Company realizar exploración y explotación petrolera en San Carlos de Alajuela, Sarapiquí de Heredia y Pococí de Limón.

Estoy en contra de la explotacion petrolera, no den¡bemos permitirla, eso de que si encuentran petroleo nos sale mas barato el combustible es una farsa y eso de que la presidenta diga que el permiso es solo para gas tambien es una farsa ya que tengalo seguro que es para el petroleo, de todos modos todo lo que dice esta señora siempre son mentiras.

se nota que la presidenta no se documenta bien, porque resulta que la extracción de gas resulta ser aun peor que la de petroleo, es más dificil de manejar y la filtración y contaminación de los mantos acuíferos es mayor..... por eso no a la explotación de gas ni de petroleo en Costa Rica.
