Una iniciativa de ley más dura contra los indocumentados fue aprobada en Texas, a pesar de las objeciones de los demócratas que la calificaron con una invitación para acosar latinos.
La votación, con 19 votos a favor y 12 en contra, realizada poco después de medianoche y después de casi ocho horas de debate, envió la iniciativa a la Cámara de Representantes, donde se espera que una amplia mayorÃa republicana también la apruebe.
Muchas fuerzas de seguridad de Texas están en desacuerdo con permitir que sus oficiales interroguen a detenidos sobre su status migratorio, sin importar la razón de la detención, ya sea por infracciones de tránsito o por crÃmenes graves.
