26 oct |Elvis Martínez. CartasXcambio es la mayor acción sobre cambio climático en la historia de Costa Rica

En la actividad de apertura participarán autoridades de educación y cinco delegaciones diplomáticas

Mañana martes 27 de octubre la asociación Co2neutral2021.org inaugurará el proyecto "CartasXcambio" en el cual participará el Ministro de Educación y representantes de las embajadas de Ecuador, El Salvador, Francia y Reino Unido. La actividad se realizará a las 9 a.m. en la Escuela Castro Madriz, ubicada en Barrio Córdoba, diagonal al Ministerio de Seguridad.

CartasXcambio es el evento más grande sobre cambio climático en la historia de Costa Rica y en el cual 100 mil estudiantes escribirán cartas a 60 líderes mundiales en las que piden llegar a un acuerdo común y global sobre el cambio climático en la Conferencia de Copenhague a realizarse el 7 de diciembre.

Cartas de alcance mundial

CartasXCambio define un papel importante de Costa Rica a nivel internacional para concienciar sobre los efectos del cambio climático. Es el único proyecto de este tipo a escala mundial y hay interés de otros países por poner en marcha el modelo para crear iniciativa hemisférica.

Costa Rica será una luz, ya que un estudiante costarricense viajará a la ciudad de México para entregar las cartas escritas por más de 100 mil estudiantes del país al canciller mexicano y a siete embajadas más. Otro estudiante costarricense hará lo mismo con su similar Colombia.

CartasXcambio comparte un mismo objetivo con las 23 direcciones regionales del MEP, quienes crearon una estructura nacional para diseminar información y a la vez, escribir las cartas que serán entregadas a los líderes del mundo y principalmente a aquellos países cuyas emisiones de gases son mayores. A la fecha se han escrito más de 3 mil cartas y más de 100 petitorias en la página del proyecto www.cartasXcambio.org.

CartasXcambio está presente también en las redes sociales como Facebook y Twitter para que los jóvenes participen de la estrategia mundial de cambio. Mientras tanto, en la televisión nacional se transmitirá la película "The Age of Stupid"de la directora Franny Armstrong. Los artistas nacionales también han hecho su aporte y ya han subido vídeos en YouTube sobre el cambio climático.

El grupo Co2neutral2021.org aprovechará la Conferencia de Copenhague y las elecciones nacionales para compartir la visión de Paz con la naturaleza de Costa Rica para concienciar a los costarricenses y a otros países sobre el cambio climático.

Co2neutral2021.org es un grupo de jóvenes profesionales costarricenses comprometidos para que Costa Rica logre la meta de carbono neutral para el 2021. El grupo lidera proyectos compactos para evaluar nuestro desempeño nacional en emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, persuadir a líderes del sector privado y público a tomar acciones, y animar a la gente joven a involucrarse en nuestra democracia global.
