Considerando:

1.El pronunciamiento del Consejo Universitario de la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica del 3 de julio de 2009 (SCU-1169-2009), donde se repudia el golpe de estado, la imposición de un gobierno de facto y la sistemática represión hacia el pueblo hondureño.

2.Que durante este período se han violentado los derechos a la vida, libre circulación y expresión, y a la paz del pueblo hondureño; y que se conoce la existencia de personas torturadas, agredidas, detenidas y desaparecidas.

3.Que existe una intensa represión a los medios de comunicación que informan y cuestionan el discurso impuesto por el gobierno de facto y el ejército.

4.Que el golpe en Honduras expone los graves conflictos en Centroamérica, y una realidad de profunda desigualdad y violencia, propia de una tendencia alautoritarismo en Latinoamérica.

La Asamblea de la Escuela de Sociología acuerda: solidarizarse con el pueblo hondureño, rechazar los actos de este régimen dictatorial, demandar el restablecimiento del orden democrático y hacer un llamado a la comunidad nacional para que se sume a las muestras de solidaridad con el pueblohondureño.
