09 feb. | alonso mejía. La CAOI se opone a la persecución contra dirigentes originarios en América Latina

El presidente de la Coordinadora Andina de Organizaciones Indígenas (CAOI), Miguel Palacín Quispe, sostuvo que en América Latina se viven procesos de "criminalización y persecución" contra las luchas indígenas.

Según una nota informativa de la agencia Púlsar, durante un diálogo con radio Mundo Real, Palacín sostuvo que en distintos países casi a diario se suceden las informaciones que hablan de prisión, enjuiciamientos, persecución, acusaciones de terrorismo o sabotaje contra hombres y mujeres indígenas que resisten a los megaproyectos del capital extractivista y explotador.

Por ejemplo, el dirigente informó que en Perú son más de mil 500 los enjuiciados en estas circunstancias y, en lo que va del Gobierno de Alan García, hay 25 asesinados del movimiento indígena.

 

Persecución no solo se da en gobiernos neoriberales

Palacín dijo que la criminzalización se da en países con gobiernos definidamente neoliberales, pero también se registran casos graves en Estados tipificados como "alternativos", y mencionó como ejemplo al Gobierno de Ecuador de Rafael Correa.

Palacín indicó que en los casos de criminalización se ve "la continuidad en políticas de favorecer el capital en desmedro de los bienes naturales y las poblaciones locales", y  sostuvo que es necesario fortalecer la unidad entre las organizaciones que enfrentan estas acusaciones desde los Estados.

La CAOI es una organización que agrupa a movimientos indígenas de Bolivia, Ecuador, Perú, Colombia, Chile, Argentina. Para el 21 de junio se prepara una movilización continental denunciando esta realidad.
